ABOUT NEBC
Service provider for Burnet County Emergency Services District #8
OUR MISSION & HISTORY
Northeast Burnet County Fire Rescue was established in response to our growing community, bringing the rural communities of Briggs, Oakalla, and surrounding areas under the protection of one service provider. As the primary service provider for Burnet County Emergency Services District #8, our mission is to protect lives, property, and the environment by providing the highest level of fire and emergency services to our communities. We are committed to upholding our core values of professionalism, respect, integrity, dedication, and excellence.
ABOUT ESD#8
Enacted by referendum in 2010, Burnet County Emergency Services District (ESD) #8 encompasses 202.91 square miles in the northeastern portion of Burnet County, including Briggs, Oakalla and the surrounding areas. As a taxing authority, ESD#8 levies both property and sales tax for the sole purpose of funding fire protection and emergency medical service first response in the district.
