Get Involved

Be the neighbor your neighbors can't live without.

Are you ready to answer the call?

Northeast Burnet County Fire Rescue protects our local communities through fire prevention, education, and emergency response.

We rely on dedicated volunteer firefighters and support staff. Join a group dedicated to putting more boots on the ground when the call to "stop the burn" comes in.

Become A Volunteer Firefighter

No experience is required to join and training to become a Firefighter or Medical First Responder is provided.  Training sessions are conducted by certified instructors in the fire station classroom and on the fire training grounds.

We provide personalized firefighting and safety equipment to each member and training covers various aspects of firefighting, rescue techniques, medical response, and ongoing skill development.

Most training is done in the evenings and time commitments vary, but we encourage volunteers to participate in training sessions regularly and be available for emergency calls when possible.

If you want to volunteer but don’t want to respond to emergency calls there are many other ways you can be part of the team.

70%

of firefighters in the U.S. are volunteers!
